Medieval Times

The Texas Reniassance Festival was a blast. The first weekend we always do as “couples” weekend. We laughed, we ate good food, we chatted and told stories around the campfire, and we indulged in a little wine & beer and had a great time. We had 10 folks in the group of which 8 partook in the Kings Feast – a five course meal – yummy and the wine tasting. I was just glad that there were going to be other girls there this year! The wine tasting was a riot (hope to post a video or two) both Casey and Brian were pulled into the act by Haley Welshwine and Marsala Di Vino. They loved it I am sure. After the wine tasting we all got on the big swings and giggled at each other (well except the guys they don’t “giggle” they just rolled their eyes at us girls). Afterwards everyone took a swing at Brian on King of the Log, poor guy.

Some of my favorite acts at the Faire include Tartanic – a wild bagpipping group with great sound, The Pirates (currently taking a year off), the Beer Tasting by Captain Basil Drake (also taking a year off and very much missed), and many of the same faces of the cast I have seen for the last 8 years. It’s great fun to go in costume (see our pics) and just walk around and be part of the atmosphere.

Girls weekend is upcoming and then the guys weekend is the first weekend in November ( I think I may take the boys to the Witte Museum in San Antonio then) and then family day is the weekend before Thanksgiving (look for some cute kilt pictures then). Check the Photo Albums for select pictures if you want them all send me a message and I’ll email you the link for the zip file.
