Okay so this could be labeled as a *rant* but it’s not really, really…. So about two weeks ago some holigans broke into the shop outside of our house. The front door was locked but they went in through a side door in the garage and helped themselves to quite a few things. What gets me the most is not that they took “stuff” that can be replaced, it’s that they felt they had some right to invade our personal property. They took stuff that made it look like it was kids, a stereo, a flat screen monitor, a dvd player, a sword, and a bunch of dvd’s (mostly kids dvds).
They didn’t work hard to buy anything, they walked in and took what they wanted, maybe thier parents didn’t raise them right. I don’t know. I’m glad I waited to write this post I may not have been so polite a few weeks ago. The biggest thing is now how I feel – suspicious of everyone. We have put up some motion security camera’s and are installing a gate at the front of our driveway. Living in the country should be safe, living anywhere should be safe. I wonder what they are thinking as they break in a take things. The probably don’t even care. I hope the Sheriff’s department finds them and that someone with a higher power than I judges them.
We’ll eventually replace what they took. For me specifically a Wiggles DVD with the Croc Hunter that was Casey John’s absolute favorite to watch. I found it resonably priced on ebay and it should be here soon. I pray that my boys grow up to be respectful and honest. But then again, I am the parent and I’ll make darn sure of that. Ok “rant” over.
