Loving a little Star Wars Geek

First of all: geek –noun Slang. a person who is extremely interested and knowledgeable about computers, electronics, technology, and gadgets

Zachary certainly fits that particular definition (so does Casey J for that matter, just not to quite the same degree as his brother) of geek. The last few months he has been all about Star Wars, the games, the legos, the movies, the toys. If there was a theme for his Christmas list it would be “A galaxy far, far, away”. Casey John has gotten just as invloved as his brother but has other interests also. Needless to say I never in a million years thought I’d be buying Star Wars toys for Christmas (along with Spiderman hotwheels, etc).

So on to why I so love my little Star War’s Geek(s), particularly Zach. A few weekends ago we were in Victoria while daddy was on his guys only weekend to the TRF and we running around in grandma’s car (automatic windows) and Zach was talking about having “jedi powers” and he decided to try them on the window. I hear “window go down”, then again “window go down” and without too much thought I rolled down his window, and then I hear this in a quiet yet surprised voice, “Wow, cool I have Jedi powers”. I had to control the outburst of laughter and after rolling the window up and down a few times I convinced him to “save” his “powers”. Oh how I wished I’d had a video camera.

And as a result Zach constantly tries to use his powers on me, when they don’t work I just tell him my powers are bigger than his because I have Super Mom Jedi Powers. I love my geeky family.
