7 days of “sicks”

Yeah, it’s been awhile, but I’ve got a really good reason. When I picked Zach up from school last Friday he didn’t look like himself, and he informed me he had a tummy ache, plus he felt quite warm. I took his temp at the office and it was 102°, got some Tylenol in him and left for home. Besides the high fever, he had chills (sweat so much it made the entire area he was laying in soaking wet – like my side of the bed), tummy aches, congestion, and cough. We went to the doctor Monday and it wasn’t strep, probably a bug or the flu…. It was 5 whole days until he got better, and the nights were the worst. He got better yesterday and went back to school today (he and his daddy are at his winter open house right now), and Casey John got sick yesterday. His fever is in the 103° range. Zach said he “gave his sicks to his brother, but not on purpose.” Casey J is much more reserved when sick, queit, withdrawn, mildly fussy. Zach is the opposite, quite the drama guy actually.

Of course this weekend is full of Christmas celebrations, but hopefully it’ll all be gone before Christmas. I feel bad when Zach gets sick (especially that sick) but when Casey J gets this sick my heart aches. I know he fears getting sick because of the hospital visit he had almost a year ago. He is definently a fighter – “I not sick mommy”. Sleep is over rated anyway (it feels like they were newborns again we are up so much at night when they are sick). Work is staying busy, and Christmas is coming way too fast! Hope you are ready to fa-la-la!
