“Everything I ever wanted”

Those were Zach’s words when asked if he liked what Santa Claus left for him. I must start the story on Christmas eve though. The boys opened a few wrapped gifts from family members and we played with those for awhile, then Zach helped Casey and I open the gifts we got for each other (note: I did not take either boy with me while shopping for Casey, last year Zach told his daddy what we got him). Soon we got the boys into their PJ’s and ready for bed. We told Zach everyone had to be asleep before Santa could come, as a result he was anxious to go to bed! I wish we could use that every night! Casey John feel asleep quickly, it was then that I realized we forgot milk and cookies for the man in red and we went to see if Zach was awake to put them out. He sat up noting “Oh dad, I was asleep once” he got up quickly and put the milk and cookies out whispering the whole time, then quickly ran back to bed to go to sleep so Santa could come over.

After they feel asleep Santa’s helpers went to work. There wasn’t a whole lot of assembly required this year except for one item. This one item unpacked, took about half an hour to assemble, only to discover it was HUGE and did not work well. After deciding this would only frustrate a 3 and 4 year old, the elves decided to return that one item to the store. The elves then nodded off to sleep only to await the early awakening of the boys. However, Casey J showed up in our room at about 8am and didn’t notice a thing (mind you he walks through the living room to our bedroom) and we actually had to wake Zach up at 8:30am!

There were many “wow’s” and “mom check this out” and so on. Zach actually repeated “wow, it’s what I always wanted” to each gift he found. Santa left each boy a note saying how good they had been and thanks for the milk and cookies. I will get photos and video up as soon as I can. If you are chuckling to yourself right now, go ahead, I promise I’ll do it when I have time (haha). As for me, I’ll be busy jamming to my new MP3 that Santa Casey bought me. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
