Tummy full of butterflies

Today is Casey John’s first day of school (half day) and I am pretty sure I am more nervous than he is. He see-sawed back and forth about being excited and nervous. He is just so “to himself” sometimes we were unsure of how he would do. We waited with Zach and he gave me a hug and kiss and walked up the stairs and promplty sat right next to his brother. We waited for a moment and he didn’t look for us so we left. I kept expecting them to call for us to come get him. Casey picked him up at 11:40am (half day time) and said he came down the steps crying that he missed his daddy, but the teacher told Casey that he did really good – complained a little about his leg hurting (he does that when he doesn’t get his way or is nervous).

Zach said he replied “here” when they called his name for roll and he did some work on numbers and shapes. We had decided that we were in no way going to force him to go, since he is younger than Zach was when he started. We shall see how he does!
