Two wild Polar Bears

So our welcome mat was frozen solid in place (it was still solid ice this morning). We had really neat iceicles form on the Christmas lights we still have not managed to take down. Our super cool archway up front has come apart and bowed thanks to the layers of ice on everything. The thickest ice was in the area of 1/2 inch on places exposed to all the rain. As I drove into town today (Thurs – I hadn’t left the house since Monday) it did not look like Texas at all. Everything was white and covered in ice! The worst part was the small amount of cabin fever – the boys really started to get bored and began picking on each other quite a bit. Well I say that was the worst actually all day Tuesday both Casey and I had a terrible stomach virus, here’s why – WARNING: The next paragraph is yucky, gross, and even disgusting…
Tuesday morning about 3am Zach was having trouble sleeping, then about 3:30am I hear the dread noise, the throw up noise. (Sorry it is gross). And it was everywhere. He did not get out of bed before he got sick. Got him cleaned up, spent half an hour cleaning up the room, put both boys onto the couches (the range of the sickness went down from the top bunk), and washed up to my elbows with scalding hot water and soap. I still got sick – refer to the post on why I became a germaphobe. So I didn’t get off the couch all day Tuesday, I could barely manage the energy to make the boys breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Yesterday was better. I hung out in the shop watching movies so the boys could play video games (so they didn’t  too crazy) and when Casey got home we took them out for a burger. They started school at 10am this morning, Casey John still begs not to go, but his teacher assures me he does good after we leave. That’s pretty much all the last 4 days has been. Keeping warm!! I posted some ice pictures on the photo albums page!
