We spent this past Labor Day weekend in our favorite lodge down in Port O’Connor with “Geema” and Grandpa Alebis, Uncle Tommy and Aunt Morgan, Uncle John, Aunt Sam, and Riley the Toot. As is tradition when ever anyone with the last name of “Moreland” arrives in Port O’Connor so does the rain. To add insult to injury I became ill Friday, I knew something was wrong on Thursday, I had an itchy throat and by that night as I was driving home from the Silver Stars game I got a terrible neck ache. Friday however I actually suffered from a fever and terrible soar throat, not wanting to ruin the weekend plans we got home at 5:30pm, packed up the whole family including the puppy and drove down getting into POC around 9:45pm. We had put the boys in their PJ’s after stopping to eat and they were sound asleep as we put them to bed in our room when we arrived, Casey and I quickly followed.
First day of fishing was Casey’s turn and he caught a few fish but they came in when the first rain storm threatened. I was feeling a bit better so I headed out with dad and Tommy to fish for a bit, only catching a fair sized shark. Later that day we all went to Sunday beach and discovered our puppy loves to swim and fetch, she’s a natural. The boys played in the rain at the lodge when we couldn’t make it to the beach, Uncle Tommy cooked some good meals for everyone, and even though I felt pretty icky the whole time I managed to get a few good photos (I’ll add some to the photo albums, the best ones our on my flickr account), and the boys had a great time as usual. Sorry to be so brief, the pillow is calling my name. More tomorrow.
