Acorns keep falling on my head…

Happy SquirrelThe cooler weather is here! This morning at 5am the cold front arrived with fury, the winds knocked acorns from the trees onto the roof making it sound like our house was on a driving range and someone just bought a big bucket of golf balls. Things creaked and moaned in the wind which was soon followed by the rains. The oak trees are having a bumper crop of acorns this year (there are some really happy and fat squirrels somewhere), you can’t walk in the yard without stepping on about a dozen at a time. We dug out the boys jeans and long sleeve shirts this morning along with some light jackets, yesterday we were all wearing shorts out in the yard! Whatever the front brought with it had all four of us sneezing this morning, but you know the saying, “A family that sneezes together, uses lots of tissues….” Hah, sorry 🙂 The boys had a guys weekend with dad while I was out of town (see the next post for details on that) so it remained somewhat an uneventful weekend. Just another work week in the making, although Casey John did tell me today when I picked him up from school that “squirrels eat robots.” I didn’t question that…
