I spent this morning (the first day the boys were off from school) curled into a ball on the couch trying desperately to get the mix of Chinese food for lunch and Mexican food for dinner to stop retching my stomach. The boys were extra sweet this morning even though I lacked the energy to make them breakfast. By 11am I was able to clean myself up and take them to get some lunch. They insisted on staying in their PJ’s and going through the drive through, fine by me as I still felt icky. After that I begin to be able to function as a normal adult, well as normal as it gets around here. The boys spent the entire day in their PJ’s – that’s a big deal for them. They even played outside some in their white t-shirts, Christmas pants and sandals.
We wrapped what was left of the gifts and the boys marveled at each one, Zachary searching for ones with his name on them. Each one picking the wrapping and bow for the gift they picked out for their daddy and signing their names on the tag. Christmas is alive for me through them. I love to hear them sing, Casey John especially, his favorites are Frosty and “have a holly jolly Christmas”. Zach’s taste seem too grown up but he likes “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” and “Go Tell It On The Mountain”, and the version of Jingle Bells where the Batmobile loses a wheel.
Tomorrow we are off to San Antonio to celebrate with the Alebis’, then headed to Victoria to have our Christmas there Sunday morning. We’ll be home for Christmas and the boys are just counting down the days!
We spent some time at the park yesterday before going out to dinner so I’ll share a few photos (although all of Casey John for some reason) with you!
