Mom & Dad, PLEASE go to sleep!

Zachary bellowed this from his top perch in his room last night. Well not really bellowed, more like begged because he knew Santa Claus couldn’t come down our chimney unless we were asleep. At 9pm he whined that he needed to use the bathroom, I think he’d been holding it for awhile not wanting to come out of his room for fear of disrupting Santa. He said his tummy felt all funny because he was so excited about Christmas.

Earlier we had let the boys open a gift from each other – I had taken each one to the store and let them pick what they wanted to give to the other. Zach chose a Nerf Shooting game that had two vests and two little Nerf guns in it. Casey John chose a Lego set for Zach. We also let them open one gift from mom and dad this year and we got them an MP3 player that’s called a Sansa Shaker, in order to change songs you just shake the player. Plus it’s got a built in speaker and two headphone jacks. We loaded them up with Wiggles, Veggie Tales, and more just for the boys music. They really seemed to like them!

Oh my gosh!

At about 10pm after making sure they were both sound asleep we setup the SC gifts. We did take about an hour to put together the 300+ piece Lego sets. The boys got a really neat R2D2 that talks, rolls around, responds to voice commands, and more. It’s currently “guarding” their room! The other neat gift was that Santa Case Claus brought the family a Wii. Yes we have joined the throngs of others getting tennis elbow by playing the Wii. We actually woke up before the boys did, waited for about half an hour or so then decided to wake the boys up (I’m not sure who was more excited). They were wide eyed when I told them that Santa had been to our house and walked out together to see what he’d left. They had a day full of playing with all their new toys!

Christmas Morning 2007

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas, full of family, friends, and good times! We’ll see you at the New Year’s party if you’re coming!!
