We all know I have a tiny obsession with photography, it’s only recently reared it’s head but it started about 8 years ago while working on a project (thanks to my dear friend Charles) and I remember the artsy side emerging again. I did take art in the dungeon over at the convent from like 1st grade until 5th with a nun, I can’t remember her name but she was serious about art. If we would talk to each other she’d make us separate and I mean like me on the south pole my friend on the north pole. I hope to get some of the work I did way back then and get it scanned in and eventually posted somewhere here so that you can all laugh at my artistic skills. However, this need for art emerged again and with the recent investment of a nicer digital camera I spend way to much time editing photos etc but not near enough time taking them though. Not yet at least.
A few days ago I got an email asking to use one of my photos on my flickr account for a service called Schmap. It’s more of a digital publication but it still gets me some exposure. It will be included in the San Antonio 2008 version of Schmap – maps and guide content are dynamically integrated, allowing intuitive, real-time access to reviews and photo slideshows for places of interest. The photo they will include I took at the Lion and Rose Pub off Broadway in San Antonio –
In my other obsession, flickr, my photo of Casey John has won a few photo pool awards. It helps the ego a bit, but it doesn’t make any difference. I love taking photos and can’t wait until I can find a way to make more time for it. Now that you know where all my piggy bank money (actually I got this cool one from Discovery.com that counts your change as you put it in and keeps a running total) will go to, more lenses and goodies for the camera. I’ll leave you with one of my most popular photos of Casey J –
