12:30am Yip-Yap

It woke me out of a dead sleep. I bolted up right in bed, shaking Big C to wake him up. Somethings making noises under the house. It sounds like the dog but she’s in the house, but I’m certain it’s a dog whining and yapping. Then we guess it’s probably a puppy under the house. Lay down try to go back to sleep, puppy still yipping. I note that it’s disturbing not only to my sleep but what if it’s being attacked or eaten by a opossum or something (really disturbing). Big C grabs a flash light and can see a small black puppy under the house but he won’t come out. Nothing can be done now. Back to bed, fall asleep about 1am only to hear the yipping start again at 6:30am. This time we (ok really Big C because I am so not crawling under the house) were able to entice the puppy close enough to grab with some food. He’s a cute little black guy with white on his chest (looks like a lab), we have no idea how he got under our house. We’ve made him a temporary home in the kennel and Chelsea’s turned green with envy. The boys named him Ashley (they came up with that one all on their own). We will begin the task of finding someone for him, I already have someone in mind who seems to like dogs but doesn’t have one of their own.

Awwww....
See, he is cute isn’t he?

We spent the weekend moving the metal barn to the back of the property to store gardening stuff, the lawnmower, etc. I even got a few flowers at the store today to populate the front flower bed area. Cross your fingers that the stray adopted cat stays out of it and that the dog doesn’t eat any of them. We’ll see how long it lasts….. If only my thumbs were greener.
