GOAL!!

Semi-controlled chaos. That’s what best describes 10 4-6 year olds on a soccer practice field. The field is adjusted for their size, 4 players on offense 3 on defense plus the goalie. It’s hard to remember not to touch the ball with your hands. CaseyJ really got into the drills and was actually catching on great, but when it came to a tiny scrimmage with his teammates and they wouldn’t “share” the ball the emotions really poured forth. Zach’s karate lessons actually seem to be stemming out into other areas, he replied “Yes sir” to the coach and paid close attention to the instructions. He’s the tallest guy out there by a head and as a result I volunteered him to take the only Youth Large jersey top and Youth Medium shorts. I however was keen to get skinny boy some XS shorts and a Small top. CaseyJ got #6 and Z-Man got #11. They are orange and black and are the Scorpions.

Yellow Light

Their first game is Saturday at 2:30pm and unfortunately Big C will have to miss some of the game, he’s going to a funeral for a good customer who passed away from a very odd circumstance. He somehow contracted the flesh eating disease and his chance for recovery was only 10%, he was 51 and had 3 younger children. I’ll be sure to have the camera out on the action though. I’m not sure how long the games are, practice today was about an hour. Putting on their shin guards, socks, and cleats was like trying to put spandex on an elephant. More fun to come on Saturday. Go here for some photos from their practice. This is my favorite (I took it while he was recovering from tripping over the ball).
