The King of the Blues

Mr. BB King kept me out LATE last night. But oh, what a great night it was. A fine man with some fine music. At 82 years of age BB King can still get an elderly lady one row in front of me to get up and shake her groove thing, he can still make his faithful lady Lucille sing sweet, sweet notes (mostly in the key of A flat, one of his favorites apparently). His band is truly one of the finest blues bands around, they’ve been together so long they seem like one big family. His stories span a lifetime of experience and music, his jokes quite funny, and his music still means the world to him. People of all ages, creed, and color were clapping and singing along. He seemed like he could’ve played all night long, even after inviting local Jimmie Vaughn and James Cotton to play along with him. I’d say seeing BB King in concert would’ve been one of the items on my “bucket list”, what a great honor it was to see him live.
