Beach Bloggin’

So I am sitting out on the porch listening to the waves of the Atlantic Ocean crash onto the beach with the moon to light the way. Ended up in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina today after a little sight seeing in downtown Charleston. I had to stop and get some souvenirs from the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company (one of my most very favorite movies), then I had some AWESOME crab cakes at Hyman’s Seafood on Meeting Street in downtown Charleston. This hotel we are at is more of a resort and it’s awesome for kids, I think the boys would absolutely love it here. I’ve been to the beach three times already and couldn’t resist buying a body board to surf some waves tomorrow morning, it’s so very different from the Gulf of Mexico yet the town reminds me of South Padre Island.

Yesterday we had a guided tour of the downtown Charleston area and went into the Calhoun Mansion and the Old Exchange –  Provost which played a big role in the Civil War. The town is absolutely steeped in history and just wonderful. I am working on those pictures now as I type and sip some Landshark beer. 🙂 I must admit the East Coast is way more awesome than I thought it would be, but all it really takes for me to feel at home is some salt water and the beach.

Z Man will talk to me on the phone (they are finally getting the postcards I have been sending everyday, at least one to each of them) but Casey J just kind of blurts out he loves me in the background and that’s all. I am grateful for the opportunity to travel and although Monday – Thursday was hot, sweaty work it is so nice here in South Carolina. I am not sure how long we’ll be here, we have to be in Norfolk by Sunday night. Well maybe I can convince someone to take some pictures of me with my body surfing board tomorrow, I think I will be sure to be up to see the sunrise of the ocean. I’ll post a few pics here as soon as I get them up on flickr!
