105 Degrees

Man it’s hot here in Texas, not that’s news around here. I’m kind of tired of this greeting “Is it hot enough for ya?” in the grocery store line. I actually told some poor old man the other day this heat was nothing compared to the jungles of the Amazon, like I had been there before or something. For the boys it just means more time to play in the water slide at home or at the pool in town. I took my camera to the pool with us last week and captured this older boy staring at me. I’m not sure who he was but he looked wise beyond his years, here look:

You can't see...
(Photo tip: I liked the bright colors but used a vintage/aged treatment here)

It looks a bit like Z Man but he’s only five… He’s growing too darn fast, I tell him to stop but he says he can’t, I feed him too many veggies and fruit which make him big and strong and that I can’t have both. Ugh. He’s too smart to. Then I found this other crazy boy who sort of resembled a surfer boy with these long bangs and wild blond hair. He told me he didn’t like haircuts and that he was driving his mom crazy by being so resistant to even a tiny trim.

I need...
(You can see the black and white version on my flickr page.)

There are still six weeks left of summer, maybe I’ll make it. We’re taking a day to go to Schlitterbahn this week but I won’t be taking the camera along so you’ll have to use your imagination when I tell the story…
