MEdia Room (Actually it’s a WEdia Room)

The weekend before Thanksgiving we decided it was a great time to tear out the flooring in what was the boys old bedroom. It had a hole in the floor (more like a gapping spot from the Grand Canyon) that needed to be repaired, before the end of the weekend we had the floor repaird and the wall ready to be painted. The Friday after Thanksgiving I managed to finish painting all the walls and then on Saturday we were able to lay down the new flooring within about five hours and then finish the trim work. Sunday we decided that even though we originally planned to purchase new furniture to put into the media room that it may be a few months before we had time to go look so we took the love seat from the front room and a recliner from the bedroom to furnish our new room. One trip to target later we had a nice little TV stand and an ottoman that held video games and video game controllers on the inside. For Christmas we treated each other to a nice DVD player with surround sound and a nice, large LCD TV. It’s awesome for movie watching. I put together a quick time lapse of the constuction because I can and I like Vimeo.

Here are some finished photos (you can click on them to see larger versions). We certainly enjoy it and it’s a “No Toys Allowed” room which is super sweet. It’s nice to have a room for us to enjoy in the house. It was about a two week project in all and well worth it. Next project – storage barn.
